Photo highlights from the Super Rugby Pacific 2026 semi-final between the Hurricanes and the Blues which was played at a breezy Hnry Stadium in front of over 24,000 fans.

The Hurricanes booked their spot in the final in emphatic fashion against the Chiefs after a scintillating three-try burst in the third quarter thanks to Cam Roigard, Josh Moorby and Asafo Aumua in just 20 minutes to open up an unassailable game-winning lead.

The Blues trailed by just 19-14 at halftime with Blues lock Patrick Tuipulotu charging over from a sublime Finlay Christie pass to respond to Barrett’s opening try for the Hurricanes.

As the first half unfolded the Hurricanes gradually edged ahead after a powerful carry over the line by in-form prop Xavier Numia, who burst through the Blues defense to put the Hurricanes into a 19-14 lead.

After the break the relentless Hurricanes rubbed salt in the Blues’ wounds with further tries to Ereatara Enari, Kini Naholo and Josh Moorby as their bench made a major impact.

The home side were roared on by a 25,000-strong crowd as the canes booked a spot in the final against the Chiefs next Saturday in the capital.

The defeat marks the end of Vern Cotter’s tenure as Blues coach.
