Ninja A-League Round 14 - Wellington Phoenix 3-1 Adelaide United - 26/01/2026.

Photo highlights from the Ninja A-League Round 14 clash between the Wellington Phoenix and Adelaide United which was played at Porirua Park.

An emphatic display saw the Wellington Phoenix move up into second on the Ninja A-League after a sublime 3-1 victory against Adelaide United.

The home side broke the deadlock in the 15th minute as winger Lucia Leon sprang the offside trap before neatly squaring for striker Makala Woods to slot home her first ever A-League goal before doubling their lead just three minutes later as Woods turned provider, playing a brilliant through ball into the path of Brooke Nunn who coolly rounded the keeper before slotting into the empty net.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between in the second half but when one did arrive, Nunn was clinical from the edge of the box firing home a liw drive past the outstretched fingers of the Adelaide United goalkeeper. Shortly after Adelaide United scored a late consolation through Isabel Hodgson who deftly robbed the goalkeeper.

The victory gives the Phoenix a fourth victory in their last six matches, with the result seeing them soar up the ladder to 2nd place having started the day in 9th position.

Result:

Wellington Phoenix 3-1 Adelaide United
