Super Rugby Pacific 2026 Round 2 - Hurricanes 52-10 Moana Pasifika - 20/02/2026.

Photo highlights from the Super Rugby Pacific Round 2 clash between the Hurricanes and Moana Pasifika which was played on a beautiful night in the capital.

After a nervous start - which included two early lineout fumbles from debutant lock Warner Dearns - the home team clicked emphatically and led 24-5 after half an hour.

However it was Moana who opened the proceedings after Tuna Tuitama had stunned the hosts earlier, chipping over Harkin inside five minutes to give the visitors an unexpected early lead.

Wingers Josh Moorby and Fehi Fineanganofo combining for five of eight tries with the opening try from Fineangano coming from a sublime sweeping scrum move, finishing in the corner after Cameron’s final pass. Fineanganofo could have had a first-half hat-trick, instead giving teammate Moorby a try on the line in the 29th minute.

Moorby proceeded to strike again early in the second half, racing under the posts after a midfield scintillating from Bailyn Sullivan before Brayden Iose added two late tries with the pick of them coming after Iose sprinted onto a Dearns offload before surging 45 metres to score.

Billy Proctor shortly after capped off a memorable night with a try on fulltime, sending the Hurricanes to the top of the table after one game however the night had a sour note after Brett Cameron came off midway into the first half after injuring his knee attempting to tackle powerful Moana midfielder Faletoi Peni off a scrum. Play was stopped before Cameron was carried from the field which was a cruel blow for a first five who was injured for most of last season with a ruptured ACL.

Next week the Hurricanes travel Lautoka to take on Fijian Drua whilst Moana will look to bounce back when they face Western Force.
