Run 4 Reef Wellington
A series of photos taken at the Run 4 Reef Wellington event. Run 4 Reef are a charity based in Port Douglas, Queensland and aims to raise awareness and funds for unique reef research into climate action and environmental sustainability. The event was held in 22 iconic locations across Australia and New Zealand showcasing host cities and bringing 100,000. The aim for all participants was to deliver an amazing event running as one for our global treasure – the Great Barrier Reef, which is the world's largest coral reef system composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,300 kilometres, however it is experiencing the consequences of climate change. The cumulative impacts of recent coral bleaching events due to warming ocean temperatures other factors include toxic coastal pollution, overfishing and unsustainable tourism.
