New Zealand 10-43 South Africa - 13/09/2025.

Photo highlights from the Rugby Championship Round 4 clash between New Zealand and South Africa which was played at the Sky Stadium.

The All Blacks opened the scoring after 18 minutes through Leroy Carter but that was as good as the night got for the All Blacks. In an error-ridden display for the All Blacks, who led 10-7 at halftime but were outscored 36-0 the second half and sliced to pieces on multiple occasions, missing 46 tackles, to fall to their heaviest-ever test defeat.

Cheslin Kolbe starred on the right wing for the Springboks, scoring two tries showing both unbelievable speed and agility after sprinting 70 metres to score after intercepting a pass from Billy Proctor and beat his opposite winger one-on-one with a sublime step inside to ignite the second-half onslaught.

The night was summed up in one play as Brodie McAlister threw the ball straight to the Springboks from a lineout around five metres out from their own try line which was emphatically punished by the two-time defending world champions, scoring through second five-eighth Damian Willemse to open up a 14-point lead on the All Blacks.

The shocked home supporters started heading for the exits when Kwagga Smith added to the All Blacks’ misery with a bonus point try gambling when Pieter-Steph du Toit caught a cross-field kick from Manie Libbok before RG Snyman dived over to compound the All Blacks misery late on however the Springboks werent done yet and added another try to register their biggest-ever win against the All Blacks to blow the Rugby Championship wide open.

The All-Blacks’ previous biggest defeat was a 35-7 loss against the Springboks at Twickenham in the lead-up to the Rugby World Cup in 2023. Next up for the All Blacks is the first Bledisloe Cup test against Australia in Auckland at Eden Park. The Wallabies haven't beaten The All Blacks on New Zealand soil since 2001.
