Isuzu Ute A-League Round 12 - Wellington Phoenix vs. Central Coast Mariners - 06/02/2024

A series of photo’s from the A-League clash between the top two in the league Wellington Phoenix and Central Coast Mariner's which was played at Wellington's Sky Stadium on a sweltering afternoon in the capital on Waitangi Day. The national anthem was sung before the game with the New Zealand flag carried out by players from Waterside Karori AFC. The game itself was a largely uneventful affair as both sides had few clear cut opportunities and for large spells cancelled each other out with both sides being well organised the Mariners however had the best chance of breaking the deadlock late on in the game through Ronald Barcellos who headed over from close range. The league leaders now face bottom side Western United on Saturday evening whilst the Mariners take on Sydney FC.
